Economic media compete in providing endless me-too-business-news. Background reports are rare, because they cost time, money and risk to collide with the publisher's philosophy and, even worse, with those of advertising clients and subscribers. Never forget: a journal or a TV-station is more part of the economy than any other company! Nevertheless we may also distinguish economic media by recognizing what they don't report. Let's offer a short overview of advanced economic media in the Web (Deutsche Tipps weiter unten) : BBC: Good ol' BBC's Evan Davis deludes us with the best written blog in economics and business ews today. His subtitle "Figuring out real life" sounds promising and he even helps us to explain this year's Nobel Laureates. Join him, it's worth! The Economist: http://www.economist.com After the relaunch in october 2006 the "Economist" is the No. 1 in the web. The Economist supports an outstanding non-profit project, the Global Peace Index. This is quite surprising because the UK, the USA and Israel really come off badly in that ranking and the publisher of course got horrible phone calls. The Wall Street Journal: To learn what mainstream, autism and unilaterism in economy is, you may check the blog of the WSJ. You won't find a better example. But they allow comments like this: "It is odd I must admit that the average economist in your survey for the most part doesn’t believe inflation exists or is very well contained. They are either never hungry, or they dont go anywhere or live in any thing but a box. It is a major disservice to their profession to not look at the manner in which these numbers are calculated." The Globalist: A good idea to launch a journal on globalization. It's hard to provide new daily informations in this field. Therefore the project seems to be a bit asleep but nevertheless a good source for worldwide news.
